For the most part, long term care is not covered under Medicare. Under special circumstances Medicare does cover rehabilitation. In order to qualify you must have a 3 day qualifying stay in the hospital and require skilled nursing care- requiring physical, occupational and speech therapy for rehabilitation, wound care.
